Texas sophomore Kenny Greaves and freshmen Marquise Goodwin and Keiron Stewart were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team on Thursday, the organization has announced. It is Greaves' second USTFCCCA All-Academic honor, while Goodwin and Stewart are first-time honorees. Greaves, a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, posted a 3.7 grade point average in architectural engineering. He earned two All-Big 12 selections on the year with a seventh-place finish in the indoor heptathlon and a fourth-place finish outdoors in the pole vault. Greaves also qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary meet, where he finished tied for 22nd. Goodwin is one of six individual national champions to be named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. He accumulated a 3.5 GPA in the college of liberal arts, while winning the NCAA Championship in the outdoor long jump. Goodwin also claimed All-America honors in the indoor long jump. In addition, Goodwin earned three All Big-12 honors on the year (two long jump / one 60 meters). Stewart earned a 3.5 GPA in the college of liberal arts. He garnered two All-Big 12 honors in the 60-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles and an All-America honor in the 110-meter hurdles after finishing seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Goodwin and Stewart were not eligible for Academic All-Big 12 honors as freshmen. The USTFCCCA honors Division I student-athletes for their athletic and academic achievements in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event.
