Men's Track and Field takes four top-five finishes at Rice Twilight
HOUSTON -- Four top five finishes highlight the fifth-ranked Texas men's track and field performance at the Rice Twilight in Houston on Thursday, April 26.
Freshman Will Paine (Houston, Texas) tied for fifth in the pole vault with a height of 16-2.75 (4.95m). In the shot put, sophomore Nick Baucum (Robstown, Texas) placed fifth with a throw of 50-4.5 (15.35m).
The next group of Longhorns are set to open competition at the 113th Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia from Friday-Saturday, April 27-28. The 4x100-meter and distance medley relays compete tomorrow at 11:20 a.m. CT and 3 p.m. CT, respectively. Hurdlers Hamza Deyaf (Richardson, Texas) and Alan Bean (Dahart, Texas) run at 8 a.m. CT while sophomore All-American Jamaal Charles (Port Arthur, Texas) will line up at 2:10 p.m. CT. Senior Derek Randall (Beeville, Texas) throws the discus in the championship at 11:15 a.m. CT, and junior Joseph Davis (San Antonio, Texas) and senior Lawrence Adjah (Piscataway, N.J.) compete in the long jump at 2:30 p.m. CT.
