AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 11 Texas Men's Track and Field team resumes its outdoor campaign at the Michael Johnson Classic in Waco, Texas.
DUAL-SPORT ATHLETES IN THE 4x100
Marquise Goodwin and D.J. Monroe, who also star on the football gridiron, will be running the third and fourth legs of the Texas 4x100-meter relay. The relay of Alex Williams, Trevante Rhodes, Goodwin and Monroe currently ranks as the sixth-fastest in the nation this season with a time of 39.29.
STEWART'S SHORT HURDLES RECORDS
Sophomore Keiron Stewart set the school record in the 110-meter hurdles at the Texas-Arkansas-UCLA tri meet with a personal-best time of 13.44, breaking Derek Spears' previous record set at the 1996 NCAA Championships. Stewart now owns the indoor and outdoor short hurdles records at UT after setting the school record in the 60-meter hurdles during the indoor season.
BAILLIO'S BEST
Sophomore thrower Hayden Baillio tossed an outdoor best April 16 at the Mt. SAC Relays. The two-time All-American posted a mark of 62-5.25 (19.03m), the fourth-best mark in the nation this season.
DECATHLETES REACH NEW HEIGHTS
Texas decathletes Isaac Murphy and Kenny Greaves competed in their first decathlons of the season at the Texas Relays. Murphy posted personal bests in eight of the 10 events, while Greaves achieved seven bests in the 10-event gauntlet. Freshman Jake Wohlford completed the first decathlon of his career, clocking the event's best time in the 110-meter hurdles.
TEXAS TOP 10
In the indoor season, the Longhorns earned a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championships to close the 2011 campaign. The Longhorns tallied 17 points behind scoring efforts from Marquise Goodwin, Keiron Stewart, Hayden Baillio and Jacob Thormaehlen.
