AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 6 University of Texas Men's Track & Field team will host the Texas Invitational on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The teams expected to compete alongside Texas at the meet include Houston, Houston Baptist, Prairie View, Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, Texas Southern, Texas State, Texas-Arlington and UT-San Antonio.
Several elite athletes are also expected to compete in the meet on the men's side including Aaron Armstrong (100m/200m), Carey Lacour (100m/200m), Michael Tinsley (200m/400m), Mychal Dungey (200m), Reggie Witherspoon (200m), Jeremy Wariner (400m), Marcus Boyd (400m) and Jerome Miller (110m hurdles).
The Longhorns have 28 athletes among the initial entries with the final heat sheets to be released tomorrow. Among the athletes expected to compete are six who have posted top 10 performances this season. Senior Jacob Thormaehlen has the top throw of 2012 in the shot put (19.65m) as he won the event at Texas Relays. Keiron Stewart has the 3rd fastest time nationally in the 110m hurdles (13.46). Hayden Baillio threw 19.43m in the shot put to rank fourth nationally. Freshman Ryan Crouser is ranked fourth in the discus after throwing 59.58m in his first collegiate outdoor event. Meanwhile decathletes Isaac Murphy (1st) and Petter Olson (4th) will compete in several singular events as the decathlon will not take place this weekend.

Parking rates are $2-$10 based on your time in the garage. Team busses will be allowed to drop off teams on the curb line of Clyde Littlefield Dr. between Robert Dedman Dr. and Red River St.
