AUSTIN, Texas -- The UT Tower was lit on Monday night to honor the 2008 Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Champion Texas Men's Track and Field. Per UT tradition, the campus landmark is bathed in burnt orange lighting from top to bottom when any University of Texas athletics team secures a conference championship.
The seventh-ranked Longhorns won their third straight indoor conference championship defeating Nebraska, 106-104, on Saturday, March 1 at the Devaney Indoor Track Center. Four individuals grabbed Big 12 titles, and the distance-medley relay set the Big 12 meet record in capturing its third consecutive crown.
Texas returns to the track this weekend (March 7-8) for last chance meets before the 2008 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship from Friday-Saturday, March 14-15 at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
