AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior high jumper Andra Manson (Brenham, Texas) earned his first Big 12 Athlete of the Week for the 2007 season after his nation-leading 7-6.5 (2.30m) clearance in winning an unprecedented fourth New Balance Collegiate Invitational event championship.

Manson, a two-time national champion and a five-time All-American, reset the meet record he already owned and tied the highest bar height in the nation this year. His mark bettered the automatic qualifying standard of 2.24 meters.

The athlete of the week honor marks the second from the Big 12 for the Longhorns this season. Senior Donovan Kilmartin (Eagle, Idaho) earned the honor after automatically qualifying and winning the heptathlon at the Roger Cox Multi’s Meet on January 26, 2007.
