2011-12 Men's Track and Field signee Lutz qualifies for World Junior Cross Country Championships

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Craig Lutz, a 2011-12 signee for the Men's Track and Field team, finished third at the 2011 USA Junior Cross Country Championships to automatically qualify for the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championship. Lutz, from Flower Mound, Texas, clocked an 8K time of 25:06 and was the top high school finisher at the race held in San Diego, Calif., Saturday morning. Lutz will now compete at the IAAF World XC Championships on March 20, 2011 in Punta Umbra, Spain. Lutz will become the fourth Longhorn signee for the 2011-12 class that has competed on the world level, joining Sheroid Evans, Ryan Crouser and Petter Olson.
