Goodwin tabbed Big 12 Athlete of the Week

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas freshman Marquise Goodwin earned Big 12 Athlete of the Week honors for his performance at the Texas vs. Arkansas Dual Meet last weekend, the conference office has announced. In his first collegiate meet, Goodwin notched two provisional-qualifying marks in winning the 60 meters and the long jump. The Garland, Texas native, who is just one week removed from playing in the BCS Championship game, clocked a 6.69 in the 60 meters and posted a mark of 7.72 meters (25-4 ft.) in the long jump. Both marks currently rank third in the nation. Next up, Goodwin and the Longhorns will travel to College Station on Saturday, Jan. 23 to dual Texas A&M.
