Stewart named Big 12 Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Jan. 16, 2013 IRVING, Texas - Senior hurdler Keiron Stewart was named the Big 12 Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Wednesday. Stewart scored a team-high 8.75 points to help lead the third-ranked Longhorns to a near upset at No. 1 Arkansas (85-78) in Friday's season-opening dual meet. The four-time All-American won the 60-meter hurdles in 7.74 and was second in the 60 meters (6.80) to earn eight points in the 16-event meet. He also ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay that was second in 3:13.83. Stewart's 60-meter hurdles time is the second fastest in the nation this season and ranks No. 10 on the Texas all-time performance list. He now owns six of the 10 fastest 60mh times in school history. The Longhorns are off this weekend, but travel back to Fayetteville, Ark., on Jan. 25-26 for the Razorback Team Invitational.
