EUGENE, Ore. -- Former Longhorn Leo Manzano advanced to the final of the men's 1500m with a second-place overall finish in the semifinal round on Friday at Hayward Field.
Manzano placed second in his heat in 3:41.90 and secured an automatic qualification for Sunday's final. The race was decided at the finish line with Centrowitz edging Manzano by just five thousandths of a second.
On Sunday, Manzano will look to place in the top three and qualify for his second Olympics. He went on to place 12th in the semifinals at the Beijing Olympic Games.
