Simmons finishes second in Olympic Development 5,000m at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - Junior Brock Simmons posted a second-place finish in the Olympic Development 5,000m Thursday evening at the 2011 Penn Relays.
Simmons clocked a personal-best time of 14:07.22 to finish as the top collegiate runner in the race, placing second only to New Balance's Steve Hallinan (14:01.29). The junior's time was the second-best by a Longhorn this season and the second-fastest since 2007.
Texas continues Penn Relays action on Friday, with athletes competing in the 400m hurdles, 4x100m prelims, 110m hurdles prelims, 100m prelims, 4x400m prelims, shot put, discus, long jump and pole vault.
