Men's Track & Field team led by Goodwin in the long jump

PHILADELPHIA, Penn -Friday was the fourth day of the Penn Relays as Marquise Goodwin led the Longhorns.
Goodwin was victorious in the long jump championship with a mark of 25-9.5 (7.86m). He has finished in the top slot all three times he has competed in the long jump this season (Texas Invitational and Longhorn Invitational). Mark Jacksoncompeted in the college section where he jumped 23-7.25 (7.19m).
The 4x100m relay placed second in the fifth heat and 10th overall with a time of 40.60 to qualify them for the College finals on Saturday at 1:45 pm. Running on the relay were Jackson, Goodwin, Emerson Sanders and Trevante Rhodes.
Texas was a strong presence in field events. Three Longhorns competed in the shot put championships. Jacob Thormaehlen was the top finisher for UT with a throw of 62-10.5 (19.16m) for third. Hayden Baillio claimed seventh place with a toss of 61- 6.25 (18.75m) and Ryan Crouser, who competed in the shot put for the first time this season, ended up 10th with a throw of 56-9.25 (17.30m). Will Spencetook first place in the college division with a mark of 58-6.5 (17.84m).
Three members represented University of Texas in the college division of the discus throw. Blake Jakobssonposted a throw of 171-5 (52.26m) for second while Baillio added a fourth place finish with a mark of 165-3 (50.37m). Thormaehlen placed 10 th with a throw of 161-1 (49.10m).
In the distance medley relay, CJ Jessett (3:01.2), Dereck Dreyer (48.1), Kyle Thompson (1:47.4) and Patrick McGregor (4:07.9) combined for 9:44.64 and a seventh place finish. The sprint medley relay ended up in 12 th place. Alex Williams, Rhodes, Dreyer and Thompson recorded a time of 3:26.33.
