Men's Track and Field posts three qualifiers on second day of last chance meets
March 7, 2009 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Junior Tevas Everett led a group of four Longhorns in action at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday. Everett notched a NCAA provisional 1:49.55 to finish fifth in the Alex Wilson 800 meters, improving on his season best of 1:50.20. Senior Mike Carmody also competed in the Alex Wilson 800 meters but was unable to improve his time, finishing 12th in 1:52.13. Carmody's 1:49.68 from earlier this season ranked 23rd entering the weekend. Freshman Patrick Todd was the other Longhorn to post a qualifier in the 800 meters. Todd finished sixth in the open 800-meter race, posting a 1:49.93, bettering his previous season best of 1:51.45. In the mile, senior Kyle Miller notched a provisional 4:03.43 to finish seventh, improving on his season-best time of 4:10.50. Now, the Longhorns and the rest of the nation must wait to see who has qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Qualifiers will be released on Monday evening.
