Feb. 12, 2011
SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Texas men wrapped up the weekend's competition at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. on Saturday with a group of distance and middle distance runners competing in the 800 meters, mile and 3,000 meters. The Longhorns were led by Patrick McGregor's personal-best 4:00.85 mile where he finished 10th out of 95 participants. McGregor's time places him fifth on UT's all-time performers list. Having only been a Longhorn for this season, McGregor has already etched his name into two Longhorn all-time performers lists. Earlier this year, the sophomore set the school record in the 1,000m (2:22.75). Also in the mile, Logan Gonzales finished 29th in 4:05.47, while three other runners posted personal bests, CJ Jessett finished 44th (4:08.40), Brian Rhodes-Devey was 45th (4:08.62) and Leon Dean came in 61st (4:10.49). In the 3,000 meters, freshman Ryan Dohner led the way where he finished 40th out of 125 competitors in 8:08.25. Senior Habben Berhane came in 89th in 8:25.00. Two Longhorn freshmen competed in the 800 meters where Kevin Rayes finished 32nd in 1:52.48 and Michael Quercia was 55th, clocking 1:58.39.
The Longhorns have a week off before they return to action Feb. 25 at the 2011 Big 12 Indoor Championships in Lincoln, Neb. TEXAS RESULTS (! - personal best) Mile 3,000 Meters |
