Men's Track and Field's Everett secures provisional qualifier on day two of New Balance Invite

NEW YORK -- Senior Tevas Everett notched a provisional qualifier in the 800 meters as Texas wrapped up competition at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City on Saturday. Everett used a season-best 1:50.44 to finish fourth in the Championship division.

Junior Jamal Wilson led the Horns in the field events, finishing third in the championship high jump with a clearance of 6-10.25 (2.09m). Junior Maston Wallace returned to action and placed fifth in the championship pole vault with a mark of 16-8.75 (5.10m).

The Horns will return to competition next weekend with trips to Seattle, Wash. for the Husky Classic on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13 and College Station for the Big 12-SEC-C-USA Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 13.
