Ibanez advances to semifinals of Orange Bowl
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- University of Texas freshman Luis Diaz Barriga Ibanez (Cordoba, Mexico) represented Mexico in the doubles semifinals of the 58th Annual Orange Bowl International Junior Championships held at the Tennis Centre at Crandon Park on Friday, Dec. 17. Barriga Ibanez, teamed with Miguel Reyes Varela, advanced through the first three rounds of the draw posting victories over tandems from the United States and Canada. In the semifinals, Barriga Ibanez and Varela fell to the Venezuelan duo of David Navarrete and Piero Luisi, 6-4, 6-1.
