Nov. 15, 2012

AUSTIN, Texas – George Golfhoff, a No. 3 men’s tennis prospect in the class of 2013, signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play at The University of Texas and coach Michael Center during the early signing period.

“I couldn’t be more excited to add George to our tennis program,” Center said. “He is one of the most explosive players in junior tennis. I see George impacting our team as well as making his mark on college tennis. He has a very bright future. Along with being a terrific player George is a great team player. He fits comfortably with all of our guys. Longhorn tennis fans will really enjoy watching George.”

TennisRecruiting.net ranks Goldhoff as the No. 3 prospect in the nation in the class of 2013. The California resident boasts a 20-match winning streak during his junior career, a victory at the USTA National Open (Feb. 27, 2012 in Waco, Texas) and a finalist at the USTA National Clay Court Championships (July 22, 2012 in Delray Beach, Fla.).

Goldhoff has lived in six different states and has spent the last two years boarding at Advantage Tennis Academy in Irvine, Calif. He will join the Longhorns in the fall of 2013.
