Kutrovsky advances at Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational
MIDLAND, Texas -- University of Texas freshman Dimitar Kutrovsky (Sofia, Bulgaria) picked up two victories to lead the Longhorns on the opening day of the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational at The Racquet Club in Midland. Kutrovsky started off the day with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Texas Tech's Dimitrio Martinez before finishing off Pepperdine's Richard Johnson, 7-5, 6-3. Kutrovsky will take on Baylor's Matt Brown in Saturday's third round. Freshman Josh Zavala (Amarillo, Texas) and sophomore Jonah Kane-West (Free Union, Va.) also collected victories in the event's opening day. Zavala defeated Rice's Filip Paroci by a 7-6, 7-6 margin before suffering a 6-1, 6-1 defeat to Notre Dame's Brett Helgeson. Kane-West knocked off Texas-Arlington's Diego Mattar, 7-5, 6-0 but could not stave off elimination from Arkansas' Blake Strode, falling by a 6-2, 6-4 margin. Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational
