Chodkiewicz and Gubser advance to round of 32 at ITA All-American Championships
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Texas' doubles tandem of sophomore Hubert Chodkiewicz (Corpus Christi, Texas) and junior Roger Gubser (Laredo, Texas) advanced to the round of 32 in doubles action by defeating Mickey Gallagher and Reed Hagmann of Colgate in the opening round of qualifying doubles play at the 2004 Icy Hot ITA All-American Championships held at the Champions Club on Monday, Oct. 4. Gubser, who dropped a tough three-set match to East Tennessee State's Oscor Posada, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, during Monday morning's qualifying singles play, joined Texas teammate Chodkiewicz in early afternoon doubles action to defeat Gallagher and Hagmann, 9-8 (3). Gubser/Chodkiewicz will face Somdev Der Varman and Treat Huey of the University of Virginia on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. CST. Texas Results Doubles Qualifying Round of 64
