Men's Tennis advances three at ITA All-American Championships
TULSA, Okla. -- University of Texas juniors Luis Diaz Barriga (Cordoba, Mexico) and Milan Mihailovic (Nis, Serbia) and freshman Dimitar Kutrovksy (Sofia, Bulgaria) each won their singles qualifying-round matches Monday afternoon at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships. As a result, all three advance to Tuesday's qualifying round of 64.
Mihailovic rallied to defeated Middle Tennessee State's Marco Born by a 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 count. He will take on William and Mary's Alex Cojanu on Tuesday. Diaz Barriga scored a 6-4, 6-4 victory over California's Daniel Sebescen to set up a meeting with Western Michigan's Brady Crosby.
Kutrovsky outlasted Tennessee's Davey Sandgren in two tiebreak sets, winning 7-6 (7), 7-6 (3). Kutrovsky will take on North Carolina State's James McGee on Tuesday.
