Men's Tennis preview: Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational, Olympia Fields Invitational

The University of Men's Tennis team will begin Fall competition this weekend with representatives at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in Midland, Texas and the Olympia Field Country Club Invitational in Chicago, Ill. Head Coach Michael Center will take a group of underclassmen to the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational, where the Longhorns shared some success last season as Daniel Whitehead won the singles title after defeating teammate Soren Hess-Olesen in the finals. Freshmen Andrew Korinek and Nick Naumann will compete for the first time as Longhorns at Midland's Racquet Club with sophomores Jacoby Lewis and Joey Swaysland. Lewis and Swaysland featured a 2-1 record as a doubles pair last Spring. Associate Head Coach Ricardo Rubio will lead junior David Holiner and seniors Chris Camillone, Alex Hilliard and Ben Chen at the Olympia Fields Country Club Invitational in Chicago. Holiner and Camillone begin the Fall as the eighth-ranked doubles team in the nation. Three of the four Longhorns in the ITA top 150 singles rankings will not be competing this weekend - No. 42 Soren Hess-Olesen, No. 46 Daniel Whitehead and No. 109 Sudanwa Sitaram.
