Six Longhorns named to Academic All-Big 12 Men's Tennis Team

IRVING, Texas - The Texas men's tennis program landed six student-athletes on the 2011 Academic All-Big 12 men's tennis team, the league announced Tuesday. Senior Ed Corrie and sophomores Chris Camillone, Ben Chen, Vasko Mladenov and Daniel Whitehead were named to the first team, while redshirt sophomore Alex Hilliard earned a second-team selection. Nominated by each Big 12 institution's director of student-athlete support services, a total of 18 men's tennis student-athletes were named to the team with 13 student-athletes earning first-team honors. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a minimum 3.20 grade-point average, with second-team members earning a minimum 3.00 grade-point average.
