Texas-Ex Kutrovsky scores Davis Cup victory

MINSK, Belarus – Texas-Ex Dimitar Kutrovsky evened his native Bulgaria’s match against Belarus with a four-set singles win Friday afternoon in the opening round of the Davis Cup.
Kutrovsky posted a 7-5, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (2) singles win over Belarus’ Siarhei Betau to even the match after Belarus posted a singles victory over Bulgaria earlier in the day. Kutrovsky will take on Belarus’ Uladzimir Ignatik later this weekend in another Davis Cup match.
Kutrovsky ended his Texas career last spring as a three-time ITA singles All-American. He finished as the winningest player in school history with 230 combined singles and doubles wins.
