Jan. 2, 2013

Head coach Michael Center previews his roster of 12 players days before the start of the spring season at the Key Biscayne Invitational in Key Biscayne, Fla. (Jan. 6-8). The first dual match of the season is at SMU on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Chris Camillone
SR • Austin, Texas

“Chris has played a significant role for us in the last couple of years. He is an All-American-caliber doubles player and I feel his game has matured and developed since last season. In the fall, he was very consistent. We will need him to succeed in order to have a great season.”

Ben Chen
SR • Spring, Texas

“Ben has played in, and won, a lot of big matches for us. Trying to keep him healthy has been the biggest challenge with Ben throughout his career. If he can stay healthy and keep his body in good shape, there is no doubt that he is a great tennis player.”

Lloyd Glasspool
SO • Birmingham, England

“Lloyd is just starting his third semester this spring – just turned 19 in November. He had a really good summer at getting stronger and improving his game. Without question, Lloyd is one of our most-talented players. I really think if he stays on the path his is on, we are going to see a really strong and consistent player.”

Soren Hess-Olesen
SO • Aarhus, Denmark

“Soren did a tremendous job playing No. 1 as a freshman last season. This year he is playing much bigger – he has already recorded some quality wins in the fall. Soren is on a great path and is ready to emerge as one of the top players in college tennis.”

Alex Hilliard
SR • Corpus Christi, Texas

“Alex has never lost a dual match – he brings an incredible intensity to the matches. He has been a tremendous doubles player for us as well. I expect Alex to be a great leader and a great force in our program.”

David Holiner
JR • Dallas, Texas

“David is a guy who has really grown in our program. He has matured and developed into a real presence for us in singles and doubles. I think David is an All-American canidate this year.”

Andrew Korinek
FR • Mansfield, Texas

“Andrew has started very well in our program. He is getting stronger every day. He is a tremendous striker of the tennis ball. I see a really bring future for him as a Longhorn.”

Jacoby Lewis
SO • Birmingham, Ala.

“Jacoby is one of our better athletes. He has got one of the best serves, not only on our team, but in college tennis. It is a matter of him being more consistent and solid with his game. As he does that, I think the sky is the limit.”

Nick Naumann
FR • The Woodlands, Texas

“Nick has established himself by going to the finals of his first college tournament – beating several good players along the way. He is a very explosive player, has a lot of big shots. The key for him will be consistency as he continues to improve in our program.”

Sudanwa Sitaram
JR • Coimbatore, India

“Sudanwa was our most-consistent winner last year – he was the Big 12 champion in the No. 3 spot. He is one of our hardest workers and wants to take it to the next level this season. He is a great ground-stroker, getting stronger with his serve and getting more consistent at the net.”

Joey Swaysland
SO • Wagga Wagga, Australia

“Joey had a really good summer – worked on his game as hard as anyone we have ever had in our program. He is starting to play better and better. He is a very adept doubles player. You know what you are going to get with Joey – he shows up to work hard everyday.”

Daniel Whitehead
SR • Sugar Land, Texas

“Daniel is without a doubt our energy and our leader. He was our MVP last season as the No. 2 singles player. When you get Daniel out on the court you are going to get a lot of heart and a lot of determination. He is a great athlete and I know he will give us everything he has this season.”
