ITA All-American Championships
TULSA, Okla. – Senior Daniel Whitehead is the last remaining Longhorn competing at the ITA Men’s All-American Championship after advancing to the third round of the consolation singles draw on Friday.
The 46th-ranked Whitehead will face Hunter Reece of Tennessee on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Central.
Sophomore Soren Hess-Olesen was eliminated from the singles main draw in the round of 16 after losing to Japie DeKlerk of Tulsa by a score of 6-0, 6-2. No. 42 Hess-Olesen went 2-1 in singles competition in the Championship with wins against two ranked opponents.
The eighth-ranked doubles team of Chris Camillone and David Holiner bowed out in the round of 16 in the doubles draw against Jarryd Chaplin and Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee, 9-8, with a tiebreaker going to the Vols.
Select Longhorns will play in the Austin Future on Monday, Oct. 8. On Oct. 20, UT will compete in the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championship in Fort Worth.
