MIDLAND, Texas -- Texas sophomore Daniel Whitehead registered a straight-set win to earn a berth in the main singles draw semifinals Saturday on day two of the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational. 

Whitehead notched a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Maryland's Tommy Laine to earn a spot in Sunday's semifinals, where he will take on San Diego's Dean Jackson.

Sophomores Ben Chen and Chris Camillone added a doubles victory but were eliminated in the ensuing round.
