No. 6 Men's Tennis defeats UTSA, 6-1

AUSTIN, Texas - The sixth-ranked Texas Men's Tennis team swept the doubles point and then registered five singles victories en route to a 6-1 win against UTSA on Thursday evening at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
The Longhorns opened with a dominant showing in doubles play. Ed Corrie and Jean Andersen started the momentum with an 8-2 triumph. The Kellen Damico-Jean Anderson pairing and the tandem of Daniel Whitehead and Alex Hilliard completed the sweep, each with 8-4 wins.
Whitehead then kept the scoring in UT's favor with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Daniel Moreiras. Corrie followed that with a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Martin Ayala to push the Longhorns to a 3-0 lead.
Another pair of sweeps from Damico and Anderson quickly extended UT's lead to 5-0. Damico defeated Yannick Junger, 6-3, 6-1. Anderson was victorious against Tyler Brown, 7-5, 6-2.
Holiner closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win against Max Stratmann.
The Longhorns return to play on Sunday, March 20, when they host top-ranked Virginia at noon.
