2001: THE LEGACY CONTINUES
In 2001, Texas Swimming & Diving continued its legacy in one of the fastest NCAA Championships to date by winning 11 of the meet's 21 events, claiming four of five relays and accounting for six of the eight American and NCAA records set at the 2001 NCAA's. Nate Dusing tallied two individual titles in the 200 IM and 200 backstroke, while also leading the Longhorns to four relay crowns in the 200 and 400 medley and 400 and 800 freestyle relays· all setting NCAA and American records. Troy Dumais claimed individual gold for the third-consecutive year on the three-meter springboard event and second consecutive crown on the one-meter springboard. Ian Crocker (100 butterfly) and Brendan Hansen (100 and 200 breaststroke) also captured individual gold for the Longhorns.
