Men's Swimming & Diving History: NCAA Championships - 1996
1996: A TEAM EFFORT Texas took an early lead with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, and never looked back as UT was the only team to score in every swimming event. The Horns did not win an individual event, but earned five silver medals to demonstrate a strong team effort. Only the 1948 Michigan and 1983 Florida squads had pulled off the winless feat before. The Longhorns defeated Auburn 479-443.5, and in defending the "home pool," made the phrase "Our Home, Our Pool, Our Title," a reality once again. |
