Three divers advance to semifinals in men's 3-meter

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Three divers affiliated with the University of Texas moved on to the semifinals of the men's 3-meter springboard competition Sunday at the USA Diving Winter Nationals in Knoxville, Tenn.
Current seniors Drew Livingston and Matthew Cooper each advanced along with former Longhorn Troy Dumais. Livingston recorded the third highest score of the day with 488.20 points. He had at least 70 points on all six dives and finished with the highest score of the sixth round, a 98.80 on his forward 4 1/2 somersault tuck.
Dumais was right behind Livingston in fourth place with 478.95 points. He also scored at least 70 points on all six dives and was in second after the first round when he notched an 82.15 following his forward 3 1/2 somersault pike.
Cooper also moved on to the semifinals after his 17th place finish. He scored 390.10 points with a high of 72.00 points on his first dive.
Also of note on the women's side Shelby Cullinan claimed 15th place in the semifinals of the platform competition with 544.20 points.
All three men's divers advance to the semifinals which will take place on Monday as well as the finals.
