IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday the selection of UT redshirt sophomore Will Chandler as the league’s Men’s Diver of the Week. It marks the second consecutive Big 12 weekly honor for Chandler.
Chandler posted top-three finishes on all three boards last weekend in Houston at the Phill Hansel Invitational, which featured 26 divers. The Waco native placed third in the one-meter event with 345.25 points and duplicated that finish in the three-meter event with 390.65 points. The All-American took second in the platform event with 338.00 points.
Chandler and the Texas divers resume the 2012-13 season on Jan. 10, 2013 when they hit the road to meet Auburn. The Texas swimmers resume competition next weekend (Nov. 29-Dec. 1) when the USA Swimming AT&T Winter National Championships come to UT’s Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
