Hansen advances to 100m breaststroke finals at Beijing Olympics

BEIJING -- Texas-Ex Brendan Hansen took third in his 100-meter breaststroke semifinal heat and placed fifth overall in the semifinals to advance to Monday's finals Saturday evening at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Hansen, who had qualified 10th for the semifinals during Saturday's preliminary round, finished in 59.94 for third place in the second of two semifinal heats. Hansen will be seeded fifth in Monday's finals, which will air live Sunday evening on NBC.
NBC's live finals coverage begins Sunday at 9 p.m. Central.
