Dumais moves on to 3m springboard semifinals

LONDON -- Texas ex Troy Dumais moved on to the 3m springboard diving semifinals with a third place finish in Monday’s qualifying round at the Aquatics Centre. Dumais finished the six rounds of dives with a 486.60 total. A total of 29 divers began the preliminary session with the top 16 moving on to semifinals, which are to be contested on Tuesday at 4 a.m. CT. The top eight after the semifinals qualify for Tuesday’s final at 1 p.m. CT. Dumais claimed his first Olympic medal last week after he and partner Kristian Ipsen took bronze in the 3m springboard synchronized competition.
