Feigen claims second consecutive silver medal at USA Swimming National Championships

STANFORD, Calif. – Texas rising senior Jimmy Feigen captured his second silver medal in as many nights and took second place behind Texas-Ex Garrett Weber-Gale in the 100-meter freestyle Friday evening on day four of the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships. Feigen, who won a silver medal in the 50m freestyle Thursday evening, took second in Friday’s 100m freestyle final in 48.99, just behind the winning time of 48.87 turned in by Weber-Gale, a gold medalist in the 400m freestyle relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Feigen and Weber-Gale were joined by two additional Longhorns in the 100m freestyle final. Texas-Ex and Olympic gold medalist Ricky Berens placed eighth in 49.70, and UT rising junior Dax Hill placed 10th in 50.57. Texas-Ex Dave Walters took third in the consolation final in 49.99. UT rising junior Austin Surhoff placed eighth in the 200m individual medley finals in 2:02.40. Surhoff claimed the NCAA title in the 200-yard individual medley as a freshman in 2010
