Troy Dumais captures three-meter synchro title at USA Diving Championships

INDIANAPOLIS and IRVINE, Calif. -- Former University of Texas All-American Troy Dumais captured the three-meter synchronized diving title Friday evening at the 2006 Kaiser Permanente USA Diving National Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Dumais teamed up with Mitch Richeson for a winning score of 404.45, outdistancing Justin Wilcock and Chris Colwill by nearly 45 points. Dumais added a second-place score of 441.90 in the individual three-meter event.

Former Longhorn Neil Walker led the Texas contingent at the 2006 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships in Irvine, Calif. Walker climbed from fourth place in the 100-meter freestyle preliminary round to second place in the finals with a time of 49.23. UT senior Garrett Weber-Gale (Fox Point, Wis.) took fifth in 49.46.

Former UT All-American Ian Crocker placed fourth in the 100 freestyle "B" final in 50.00. Former Longhorn Paul Ridgeway placed fifth in the 200-meter individual medley "B" final in 2:05.68.
