Cooper places third on platform at USA National Diving Championships

PASADENA, Calif. -- University of Texas rising sophomore diver Matt Cooper took third place in the men's platform diving event Saturday afternoon at the 2008 Kaiser Permanente USA Diving National Championships. Cooper (Bethesda, Md.), a 2008 NCAA All-American in the platform event, took third overall with a final score of 413.20. Nick McCrory won the event with a total of 521.70. Texas-Ex Troy Dumais and UT rising senior Jonathan Wilcox are set to compete in Sunday's three-meter finals.
