Former Longhorn Troy Dumais adds bronze medal at Pan American Games
RIO de JANEIRO -- Former University of Texas All-America diver Troy Dumais took the bronze medal in the three-meter springboard event to pick up his second medal for Team USA in as many days Thursday at the 2007 Pan American Games. Dumais (1999-2002) took third on the three meter with a final score of 484.25. Canada's Alexandre Despatie captured the gold with a total of 503.65, and Brazil's Cesar Castro won the silver at 492.70. Dumais teamed with Mitch Richeson to win gold on Wednesday, July 25 in the three-meter synchronized diving event. Current and former Longhorns swimmers and divers have accounted for two golds, two silvers and one bronze medal at the Pan American Games. Rising sophomore swimmer Ricky Berens (Charlotte, N.C.) won gold in the 400-meter medley relay and won silver medals in the 400- and 800-meter freestyle relays.
