Former UT diver Dumais bound for London

LONDON -- Former University of Texas diver Troy Dumais is set for his fourth Olympiad, where he will compete in the 3m springboard and 3m synchronized springboard diving events.

In addition, Texas men’s diving coach Matt Scoggin will assist the U.S. men’s team in London.

Dumais won the synchronized springboard with his partner, Kristian Ipsen, at the Olympic Trials in June, and he finished second individually in the 3m springboard to qualify for the London Olympics.

During four years with the Longhorns, Dumais won seven NCAA diving titles in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.

Dumais and Ipsen compete in the synchronized springboard final on Wednesday, Aug. 1. Preliminary rounds for the 3m springboard begin on Monday, Aug. 6, with the semifinals and finals to be contested on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

The Olympic diving events will be contested Sunday, July 29 through Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Aquatics Centre in Olympic Park. For complete TV coverage information, please visit NBCOlympics.com.
