Scoggin added to USA Diving coaching staff

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas diving coach Matt Scoggin has been announced as an additional and personal coach for the United States Diving team that will be competing in London for the 2012 Olympics. "It is always an honor to represent your country at the Olympic games," said Scoggin. "This particular Olympics I will enjoy coaching Troy (Dumais) in his fourth Olympic games." Troy Dumais will be making his fourth trip to the Olympics and Scoggin, his coach, will be there as one of six additional and personal coaches along with Head Coach Drew Johansen and Assistant Coach Rick Schavone. For Scoggin this will be his third appearance at the Olympics as a coach as he also went in 2008 for the Beijing games and in 2000 for the Sydney Olympics. Scoggin also competed in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona as an athlete on the boards. "The experience of being able to go back to the Olympics is such an honor," said Scoggin. "You know how hard everyone worked to get there. It is one of the biggest honors you can experience."
