Men's Swimming and Diving notebook: Feb. 12

AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas men's swimming and diving signee Jimmy Feigen (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill HS) chalked up his second national high school record in less than a month last week at the UIL Region IV Championship in San Antonio.

Feigen clocked 43.41 in the 100-yard freestyle, topping the previous mark of 43.43 set by Joe Hudepohl of Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier on Feb. 15, 1992. Feigen's swim also broke the national public school mark of 43.49 set by former Longhorn Garrett Weber-Gale of Nicolet (Wis.) on Feb. 22, 2003.

Feigen took down the national high school mark in the 50 freestyle on Jan. 25, clocking 19.65 at the UIL District 26-5A meet in San Antonio. The time broke the previous record of 19.69 set by Michael Cavic of Tustin (Calif.) on May 11, 2002.
