AUSTIN, Texas -- CollegeSwimming.com has tabbed University of Texas freshman Jackson Wilcox as its National Men’s Collegiate Swimmer of the Week after he won three events in the Longhorns wins last week at No. 8 Auburn and No. 11 Georgia.

Wilcox (Nashville, Tenn.) led Texas with two wins in the Horns' 139-102 win at No. 8 Auburn on Jan. 8. Wilcox claimed the 1000-yard freestyle in 9 minutes, 10.87 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 4:25.64. He added a third-place showing in the 200 butterfly at 1:48.99.

On Jan. 10 at Georgia, Wilcox clocked a NCAA provisional-qualifying mark of 4:24.37 to win the 500 freestyle, an event which featured UGA All-American Troy Prinsloo. Wilcox also took second in the 200 freestyle (1:39.22) and the 200 butterfly (1:48.31) and third in the 400 IM (4:01.25).

Wilcox is the third Texas men's swimmer to be recognized as the National College Swimmer of the Week this season. Olympians Ricky Berens and Dave Walters were recognized on Nov. 4 and Dec. 9, respectively.

Wilcox and the Longhorns resume competition on Friday, Jan. 30 when they host No. 2 Arizona in a two-day meet at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
