Cooper takes second in platform event at NCAA Zone Diving Meet

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas junior diver Matt Cooper led the Longhorns' men's diving contingent by taking second in the platform event Sunday afternoon in the final session of the NCAA Zone "D" Diving Meet at Texas A&M's Student Rec Center Natatorium. 

Cooper took second in the platform event with 743.30 points, while UT sophomore Drew Livingston placed eighth with 546.25 points.  Cooper and Livingston earned their NCAA Championships berths on Friday when they placed in the top-three in the three-meter event at the NCAA Zone Diving Meet.

Cooper and Livingston will join 17 Texas men's swimmers at the NCAA Championships set to begin Thursday, March 25 in Columbus, Ohio.  Cooper and Livingston are All-Americans in the platform diving event, and Livingston is the defending NCAA men's one-meter diving champion.
