Teamed up with future Longhorn teammate Kip Darmody to win gold for the USA in the 400m freestyle and medley relays at the 2010 Junior Pan Pacific Championships
Won gold in the 200m freestyle with a meet-record time of 1:48.44 at the 2010 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, where he also won silver in the 100m freestyle
Won the 200m freestyle (1:49.37) at the 2010 Speedo Junior National Championships
Holds Michigan state high school records in the 50, 100, 200 and 500-yard freestyle events, in addition to the 100-yard butterfly
