2009 FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
• anchored the 400m medley relay in 46.80 and joined Aaron Peirsol, Eric Shanteau and Michael Phelps to win gold and set a new world record in 3:27.28
• joined UT classmate Ricky Berens, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte and helped the Americans to gold and a new world record of 6:58.55 in the 800m freestyle relay; split 1:45.47 on the third leg

• Swam the opening leg of UT's second-place 800 freestyle relay in 1:34.04 at the NCAA Championships; relay finished in 6:16.54
