• Earned seven All-America honors, also finishing fifth in the 100 butterfly (46.29), fourth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:16.72), fourth in the 200 medley relay (1:24.73) and third in the 400 medley relay (3:05.68)
• Captured five Big 12 Championships, winning the 50 freestyle (19.26), 100 freestyle (42.61), 200 freestyle relay (1:18.23), 400 freestyle relay (2:52.64) and 200 medley relay (1:25.02)
• Took first place in 11 of his 15 sprint freestyle events as he won the 50 freestyle six times and the 100 freestyle five times

• Placed second in the 100 freestyle (41.91; 42.33 prelims), fourth in the 50 freestyle (19.08; 18.97 prelims) and 20th in the 100 butterfly (47.07) at the NCAA Championships
• Teamed up with Dave Walters, Scott Jostes and Ricky Berens to place second in the 400 freestyle relay (2:49.90) at the NCAA Championships; split a relay-best 42.01 on the second leg
• Placed third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:16.23) alongside Walters, Ben Van Roekel and Jostes at the NCAA Championships; led off the relay in 19.11
