EKURHULENI, South Africa -- Texas Men's Golf signee Brandon Stone finished as the low amateur at the South African Open Championship with a final scorecard of 3-under-par 285 (73-69-70-73) at Serengeti Golf Club today.

Stone finished tied for 39th place overall to earn the Freddie Tait Trophy awarded to the low amateur in the field. He is the second Longhorn to earn the honor as senior Dylan Frittelli also accomplished the same feat in 2009.

South Africa's Hennie Otto won the European Tour event in his homeland at 14-under 274.
