Men's Golf team ranked 19th in latest GCAA/Bridgestone poll
NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Texas men’s golf team received a No. 19 ranking in the latest GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches poll. Georgia continued its reign over Division I men’s golf by gaining 16 first-place votes to remain ranked No. 1. Georgia Tech remained second and picked up the last first-place nod. Oklahoma State held on to the number three spot, followed by Duke and Florida. UNLV and Tennessee each slid two spots to come in at numbers six and eight, respectively, while Brigham Young climbed two spots to check in between them at seventh. Arizona State and UCLA close out the top 10. In three tournaments this fall, the men's golf team has finished no lower than tied for seventh and as high as third. In those tournaments only UCLA has finished ahead of UT more than once and among those schools that have finished ahead of Texas, none have finished in the top seven the following tournament besides the Bruins. The Longhorns will now take a break until Jan. 30-31 when they head to Tucson, Arizona for the PING/Arizona Intercollegiate at Arizona National Golf Course.
