IRVING, Texas -- Texas senior Dylan Frittelli has been named September's Big 12 Conference Men's Golfer of the Month, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. The honor is the second of Frittelli's career after previously earning the accolade in April of 2010.
Having notched two second-place finishes on the season, Frittelli currently ranks sixth in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings. He led the Longhorns at the season-opening Olympia Fields Invitational, finishing the 54-hole affair at 1-under-par 209 and just three strokes behind the medalist. This week, Frittelli paced the Texas Men's Golf team to a 20-stroke victory at the Jerry Pate Invitational. The 2010 Big 12 Golfer of the Year owns a 68.7 stroke average for the month of September.
Frittelli returns to Texas' lineup next week at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational (Oct. 10-11).
