TEXAS LINEUP: Texas coach John Fields will utilize the same starting five that teamed up to win last weekend’s Gopher Invitational: junior Charlie Holland, freshman Dylan Frittelli, sophomore Bobby Hudson, junior Lance Lopez and sophomore Donald Constable.
LAST TIME OUT: Texas rallied from a four-stroke deficit heading into the final round to tie LSU for the team title at the 12-team Gopher Invitational in Wayzata, Minn. Junior Charlie Holland landed the sixth top-10 finish of his career and took second place at one-over for the tournament. Playing on his hometown course, sophomore Donald Constable secured the first top-10 finish of his career, as he tied for eighth at three-over par.
THE 2009 LONGHORNS: Texas returns three starters from the 2008 squad that placed 19th at the NCAA Championships and took second at the Big 12 Championships. Junior Charlie Holland returns after earning Golfweek honorable mention All-American last season, during which he took medalist honors at the Fresno State Lexus Classic.
UT also returns sophomore Bobby Hudson, who set the course record with a 65 at The University of Texas Golf Club last April en route to medalist honors at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate. Junior Lance Lopez also returns after playing in the last two NCAA Championships for the Longhorns.
