Schultz qualifies for U.S. Amateur Championship
AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas senior Kevin Schultz shot a two-round score of 138 on Monday, Aug. 6 at the Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas to earn a spot at the 2007 U.S. Amateur Championship. The event will be contested at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif., from Aug. 20-26. Schultz (Richardson, Texas) topped four other players in his sectional qualifier to earn the berth in the U.S. Amateur field. Joining Schultz in the U.S. Amateur will be Jhonattan Vegas and Farren Keenan, who completed their collegiate eligibility at Texas last spring, and UT sophomore Lance Lopez (Missouri City, Texas), who qualified for the U.S. Amateur on Aug. 2 at the Tournament Players Course in The Woodlands, Texas.
